About
Carey Lewis Studios
Our vision at Carey Lewis Studios is to build singers who perform confidently and powerfully in their authentic sound. Every voice is like a fingerprint, but today many singers feel pressure to sound like their favorite celebrity.
In our voice lessons, a singer can expect to be seen, heard, and encouraged to find their unique voice. Lessons will consist of warm ups, technical training, and of course singing songs! Carey has a wide experience in many genres, but her featured areas are the classical song, the Great American Songbook, jazz standards, music theatre, and contemporary Christian, hymns and gospel.
More information about what repertoire she has personally learned can be found in the repertoire tab, and demos of her singing can be found in the Gallery tab.
Get To Know Carey
Carey is a versatile and emotive soprano currently based in Las Vegas, Nevada. She has experience singing just about every genre; from opera, music theatre and jazz to pop, rock and gospel. Growing up in the greater Washington D.C. area, she started singing in grade school, with her first role as Marian the Librarian in The Music Man Jr, at the age of 10. Singing and musical theatre became her main focus throughout middle and high school. She started studying voice with Anne Hurley-Cole in 2004 and continues to sing with her to this day, through virtual lessons.
In 2010 she began pursuing a Bachelor's of Music in Vocal Performance at the Jacob's School of Music in Bloomington, Indiana. Here, she was in her first operas, appearing in La Boheme, Cendrillon, Candide, and singing The Sandman in Hansel and Gretel in 2013. During this time she also led worship regularly at City Church for All Nations.
After finishing her undergraduate degree, she returned to school at Indiana University's School of Public and Environmental Affairs to pursue a Masters of Arts in Arts Administration, which she received in 2015. That year she began working in full-time ministry at City Church, where she had attended since 2010. Starting off as the Administrative Secretary, she was eventually promoted to Marketing Exec and finally Worship Pastor, where her passion for music and for people could truly be exercised.
From 2018 to 2022 she served as the music director at City Church, and is now pursuing a new chapter on the West Coast with her husband, Jacob. Her dream is to be able to share the healing power of singing with people who need it most.
In Las Vegas, she currently can be seen performing with The Master Singers, a 100-person choir made up of music professionals from around the city. Upcoming performances include singing as a featured soloist in their Christmas program, and in the opera chorus of La Boheme with the Las Vegas Opera. When not singing, she can be found rock climbing or eating pastry, preferably both at once!
